whats the good and cheap place to stay in Koh Samui island, Thailand?

I'm traveling there on 17th June, coming back 2nd July. I've got hotel booked as a part of the deal, but only for first 3 days. Looking for more info on beach houses perhaps or similar. Thanks in advance.
whats the good and cheap place to stay in Koh Samui island, Thailand?
Hi, what I ca offer is that Samui is an island. You can look around for other accommodation during the first 3 days. They should be within easy reach from where you will be.
The other is to go to www.asiarooms.com and check out the offers available on the net. As the price will vary during different period, best to check for yourself and book accordingly.
There are many good, luxury hotels and resorts on Samui. But there be promotions that may make it worthwhile to try them too. Happy searching and stay.

  • Whats the deal with "Priceline.com"? 'round trip airfare for $109.11?

Whats the deal with "Priceline.com"? 'round trip airfare for $109.11?
I know with Priceline, you can name your own price but the main question is will the airline accept it. It's like a bargaining game, you name your price and the airlines will either give it to you or rejected it. When you fill in your own price you can put anything down from $1-$100 but what airline will accept $109.11 for one roundtrip ticket to China?

Whats the customary tip percentage in China?

Whats the customary tip percentage in China?
Zero percent. The iniquitous Western swindle of imposed gratuities is not part of Chinese practice and you will often offend them by offering a tip. However, if the service was really worth something extra you may insist on a gratuity being accepted. Offer it sincerely, while making eye contact. If paper money use both hands. It will then be graciously and gratefully accepted.
Whats the customary tip percentage in China?
There is no tip whatsoever in China - ever.

(some of us give tips to those who seem to really deserve it, but it has to be done under the table)

Normally they don't take any. They are busy.As you are a foreigner in a crowed resturant say thank you in local language.(there are different dialects) and see your waitress/waiter running everywhere to tell, you speak chinese. In a lonley place like hotel room they like it,bell boy.Pay in local currency.
it's included in your bills. if i remember correctly, its about 5% or 10%.
    Nothing.

Tipping is unusual in China. Most Chinese service workers will refuse to take a tip.

In Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen, where more foreigners tend to visit, the rich American Bozos on expense accounts have corrupted the local population. Some people in those areas now expect tips.

Outside the places mentioned above, tipping is unheard of. Workers in smaller cities will not take a tip, even if you insist, they will get the money back to you somehow.

IN CHINA, CHINESE PEOPLE DO NOT TIP

    ONLY DUMB FOREIGN VISITORS DO
