What's the weather/climate like in Singapore in the month of August?
Singapore weather is almost the same all year round. I should know since I live here :P

Anyway, most people can get by in t-shirts and berms/shorts or jeans. Temperature hovers around 30 deg celcius. The main difference in different months is the amount of rainfall and it's seldom cold enough to warrant wearing a jacket.

One thing to take note though, most offices and shopping complexes are air-conditioned to hell so you may need a jacket/sweater if you're coming for work.

Here.
Here.
I was in Singapore several years ago from August 8 - 14, and it was hot. Hot hot hot. We spent time near the water, though, and at night it would get quite cool. I'd recommend light layers you can add if the temp drops. I was glad to have a sweater with me when we took an evening bumboat ride. Otherwise, we wore shorts & t-shirts.
Singapore has a typically tropical climate - it's hot and humid all year round. The temperature rarely drops below 20C even at night, and usually climbs to 30C or more during the day. Humidity tends to hover around the 90% mark. At certain times of the year, it may rain every day but rarely all day. Singapore is at its wettest from Nov. to Jan.
There is not a big difference in temperature in Singapore duringg the whole year, it is very humid there. However, it is more sunnier durin Summer period, while in the period of November-January is gets really rainy.
